Frequently asked questions
- What is Pachand?
- Pachand is a campaign-finance intelligence platform for political operatives. It monitors FEC filings for the committees on your watchlist and turns them into real-time alerts, donor funding-by-ZIP heatmaps, cash-on-hand and receipts trends, and an opponent cash scoreboard.
- Where does Pachand's data come from?
- All filing and contribution data comes from the U.S. Federal Election Commission's public APIs and e-file systems. ZIP-level aggregates may be enriched with U.S. Census Bureau data. Pachand is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the FEC, any campaign, or any government agency.
- How are filing alerts different from the FEC's own tools?
- Pachand scopes alerts to your watchlist and adds human-readable summaries, period-over-period receipts and cash-on-hand deltas, filing-type intelligence (no misleading $0 notices), donor ZIP heatmaps, and a deduplicated daily digest delivered by email and Slack.
- Does Pachand expose individual donor information?
- No. Pachand displays contribution geography at the ZIP-code level only, using aggregate totals. It does not show individual donor names, addresses, employers, or occupations, and itemized contributor exports are not available. Users must not use the service to solicit contributions or for commercial uses involving FEC contributor information, consistent with 11 CFR § 104.15.
- What are the rules for using FEC contributor data?
- Under federal law and FEC regulations (11 CFR § 104.15), information copied from FEC reports must not be sold or used to solicit contributions or for commercial purposes involving individual contributors. Pachand is designed for aggregate campaign intelligence; subscription fees pay for software, not donor lists. See our Terms of Use and Legal & Privacy pages for permitted and prohibited uses.
- How much does Pachand cost?
- Pachand offers an Early Adopter plan at $49/month with flexible monthly billing for invite-only paid testing during beta. Pachand Pro at $99/month (billed annually) opens after beta with higher watchlist limits. Both tiers include email and Slack filing alerts; optional SMS may be added when available.
- How do I get access to Pachand?
- Request an invite from the in-app request form. Approved users receive a code by email and can sign up to build a committee watchlist and configure alerts.
